Socratees' Notes is my journal that captures my study across business, technology and leadership, specifically focusing on the mechanisms of how organizations run, how they create value bringing together capital, people and technology.

I am a technology and operations leader with 2+ decades of experience working in, building and operating large-scale technology systems, with specific focus on resiliency, enterprise technology, financial services and organizational leadership. I adopt a complex adaptive systems mindset with thinking about teams, models and scaling.

Beyond my professional work, I am deeply interested in forces shaping business and societies: industrial capacity, technological change, financial markets, geopolitics, entrepreneurship, institutional design and the various systems/structures we interact with daily.

My goal for this site is to be a consistent log of topics I study. I approach these subjects as a student as I study companies, industries, technologies, markets, leaders and institutions, to understand the underlying mechanisms/structure that create advantage, and why some (societies/organizations) are able to better convert knowledge and resources into real-world power.

The common thread is to satisfy my lifelong curiosity - to understand how things work, and what creates leverage, and to build what matters.
